If you are writing about a subscription, include the email address shown at the top of your Profile tab. It is the fastest way for us to find your account.
Common questions
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us. Open your Apple subscriptions, choose Clairop, then Cancel. Deleting the app does not cancel it.
I paid but the app still says Free.
Tap Profile → Restore Purchases first. If it still shows Free, check which account you are signed in as; the email appears at the top of the Profile tab. A subscription belongs to an Apple ID, so buying on one account and signing in as another will do this. If neither fixes it, email us and include that address.
Why does the app say it doesn't have enough data?
Because it doesn't yet. Trigger analysis needs at least five meals with a food and five without before it will say anything, and about two weeks of logging before the picture is meaningful. It shows the count so you can see how far off it is. See Method & sources.
Why is a product rated “no data”?
Because at least one of its ingredients is not in our reference table. We only rate what we can source, and we would rather tell you that than imply a food is safe when we do not know. Send us the barcode and we will add it.
How do I get my data out, or delete it?
Both are in the app. Profile → Delete Account permanently erases your account and everything we hold. Profile → Reset all data clears this device but keeps your account. See the privacy policy.
Barcode scanning isn't working.
Check that Clairop has camera permission in iOS Settings. Live scanning also needs a real device: it is unavailable in the Simulator, and the app will say so. If a specific barcode is not recognised, it is probably not in Open Food Facts yet; you can point the camera at the ingredient list instead.
Clinicians and dietitians
If something in our method or our FODMAP data looks wrong, please tell us. We would rather be corrected than trusted. The full method is on the Method & sources page.
A medical emergency is not a support ticket
Clairop is not monitored, and we cannot give medical advice. If you are unwell, contact your clinician. If it is urgent, contact emergency services.
