Frequently asked questions
- Are these IBS and IBD tools free?
- Yes. Every tool is free and needs no account. Most ask for an email address to show and send your result, so you can keep it and compare next time. The red-flag checker never asks for an email.
- Can these tools diagnose IBS, Crohn's disease or colitis?
- No. They calculate published scores and checklists from your answers. A diagnosis needs a clinician, usually with blood and stool tests, and sometimes a colonoscopy.
- Where do the scores come from?
- Each tool uses a published instrument or guideline, such as the IBS Symptom Severity Score, the Rome IV criteria, the Harvey-Bradshaw Index or NICE guidance. Every tool page lists its sources.
- What happens to my answers?
- Your answers are used to calculate the result and to email it to you. If you give your email, it is added to the Clairop launch list, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
