Terms of Use

Last updated: 12 September 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Pavado Technologies Inc. for your use of Clairop. By creating an account you accept them. If you do not, please do not use the app.

1. What Clairop is, and what it is not

Clairop is a general wellness app for people living with a diagnosed digestive condition. It does not replace professional medical care, diagnosis, or treatment. Always follow your healthcare provider's advice.

Clairoprecords what you log, summarises it, and looks for statistical patterns in it. It does not diagnose any condition, does not treat one, and does not recommend, prescribe or adjust medication. It takes no measurement from your phone's sensors.

It has not been evaluated or cleared by the FDA, the MHRA, Health Canada, the TGA or any other regulator, because it is not a medical device.

Never delay seeking medical advice, disregard advice you have been given, or change your treatment because of something you read in this app. If you are unwell, contact your clinician. If it is an emergency, contact emergency services.

2. Accuracy, and its limits

We take accuracy seriously, and the app is built to say so when it does not know something. You should still understand where the limits are.

  • FODMAP values are reference data, not measurements of your food. They come from published research and open food composition databases, cited in the app. Recipes change, manufacturers reformulate, and portion size changes everything. Tolerance is also personal: a low FODMAP food can still be your trigger, and a high one may not be.
  • Food identification from a photo is a best guess. Check the list before you log it.
  • Trigger analysis shows association, not cause. A food you always eat alongside your real trigger will look like a trigger too. It is not a recommendation to avoid anything, and unnecessary dietary restriction carries its own risks. Talk to a dietitian or your clinician before changing what you eat.
  • Activity scores are questionnaire scores calculated from your own answers, with items that require a physical examination omitted and that omission disclosed. They are not an assessment of your condition.

3. Your account

You need an account, created with Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google. You must be at least 16. You are responsible for what happens under your account, and for keeping access to your sign-in method secure.

You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete Account. That erases your data on our side; see the privacy policy for exactly what goes.

4. Subscriptions and payment

Logging, bowel and symptom tracking, barcode scanning, activity scores and 30 days of history are free and stay free.

Clairop Pro is an auto-renewing subscription. Its current price, billing period and any free trial are shown in the app and on the App Store before you confirm, in your local currency, and may differ by storefront.

  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of the current period.
  • Manage or cancel in your Apple account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
  • If you have an unused portion of a free trial when you buy, it is forfeited.

Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. Request one through Apple's support site.

5. Fair use

Some features cost us money on every call, so they carry daily limits. Those limits are shown in the app when you reach one. Please don't try to work around them, scrape the service, or use it in a way designed to degrade it for other people.

6. Your content

Your entries and photos are yours. You grant us only the permission we need to run the service for you: to store your entries, to calculate summaries from them, and to send a meal photo for identification when you ask for that.

We do not use your health data to train AI models, and we do not sell it.

7. Availability

We aim to keep Clairop running, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. Features may change or be withdrawn. If we discontinue the app, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to export your data first.

8. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Clairop is provided as is, and Pavado Technologies Inc. is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of it. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, in which case they do not apply to you.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, and the courts of that province have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory law where you live.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects your rights we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
